Most legal pages are written to hide things. Ours is written to be understood. Here is how we work together.
Thistle is a software tool designed to help you organize your finances. We are not accountants, tax advisors, or financial planners. Any tax estimates provided are calculations based on the data you enter and current HMRC guidelines—they are not a replacement for professional advice. Always verify your final returns with a qualified professional.
When you create a Thistle account, you're entering a contract with us. You're promising that you are who you say you are, and that you'll use our tools for your business in a way that is legal and honest. If you don't agree with these terms, you shouldn't use the app.
We aren't in the business of selling data. Your invoices, your customers, and your financial records belong to you. We simply host them and provide the tools to manage them. You can export your data at any time. In return, you give us permission to process that data so the app can actually work for you.
Thistle Pro is billed at £5/month (or as otherwise stated in your offer). It's simple: pay for the month, use the app. You can cancel any time with two clicks from your dashboard. We don't do 'gotcha' contracts. We also expect 'Fair Play'—using our automated features (like AI scanning) in a way that doesn't intentionally try to break our servers.
We take the 'Thistle Guardian' commitment seriously. We use industry-standard AES-256 encryption and follow strict security protocols. While we aim for 100% uptime, the internet is a complex place. We aren't liable for any losses caused by temporary outages or technical errors beyond our reasonable control.
Our HMRC integration is designed to make tax compliance effortless. However, effortless doesn't mean 'hands-off'. You remain legally responsible for the accuracy of every figure submitted to HMRC. Thistle is the secure pipe, not the accountant. We are not liable for surcharges or penalties arising from incorrect submissions or HMRC platform downtime.
We're constantly evolving. Sometimes we'll add features, sometimes we'll refine them. We reserve the right to update these terms as the product grows. If we make a massive change that affects your rights, we'll send you an email to let you know.
Our team is happy to clarify any of these points.
